In 2000, a West Island resident, with a group of volunteers opened a Thrift Store "Le Coin de Trouvailles", on the main street of Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue. Based on the "charity shops" in England, the Fondation d'Entraide en Santé des Bénévoles de Sainte Anne receives donated goods which are then sold, with the proceeds being directed to a charity, in this case NOVA West Island. There are now four stores staffed by over 150 volunteers.
